Lunch together
Stay and share a meal with your loved one.

See the rooms, activities and places to spend time together at Aquarius Lodge.
Some people enjoy an activity or a chat. Others would rather sit quietly or spend time in their room. We ask what each person enjoys and leave room for both.

CQC inspectors recorded residents playing skittles in the lounge.
CQC inspectors also recorded a visit from a therapy dog. Ask what activities and visits are happening now.
CQC inspectors noted links with local charity groups. Ask the team about current activities.
Residents have been on outings, including one art museum visit recorded by CQC. Ask what trips are possible now.

Something to do with their hands can make an afternoon feel like their own. We ask what your loved one has always enjoyed, whether that was painting or a crossword, and make room for it at their own pace.
We will encourage, but nobody is ever pushed. Some days they will want to join in at the table, and some days they would rather watch with a cup of tea, and that is fine too.

Sit together in the garden summer house.
There are no set hours, so come when it suits.
Talk to us first if you plan an afternoon out.

Christmas is a time to sit down together, with paper crowns on and a proper lunch on the table.
Every family has its own way of doing things. Tell us the traditions that matter to your loved one, from a favourite carol to a visit on Christmas morning, and we will do what we can to keep them going.
You can ring to ask about your loved one. If the right person is busy caring for residents, ask when they can call you back.
If your loved one uses a phone or tablet, ask whether the team can help them make a call.
Letters and cards can be sent to the home. Ask the team if your loved one needs help reading them.
Ask us about visiting as your loved one settles in. You know them well, and together we can find what helps.
Tell us when it happens, and what you said. We can talk together about what they may be missing or finding difficult, and how best to support them.
If you have always done something for them, such as their hair or a hand at lunch, and you would like to carry on, tell us so we can talk about how to make that possible.
Please check with the team first, especially if there are dietary needs or swallowing difficulties.
Come and see the rooms and garden, meet the team and ask how your loved one would be supported.
